内容摘要:

Big data are in all science and engineering domains. Analysis of them requires novel learning techniques to address the various challenges. This talk will briefly introduce the basic concepts of machine learning and give a brief survey of the research on machine learning for big data processing. Some promising learning methods in recent studies will be highlighted. Then, the challenges and possible solutions of machine learning for big data will be presented. Following that, the applications in computer vision, image and signal processing, Internet of Things, etc. will be investigated and various deep learning network models will be demonstrated for various applications such as crowd counting, image segmentation, traffic prediction, etc.

个人简介：

何祥健，宁波诺丁汉大学理工学院（Faculty）研究团队负责人、计算机视觉与智能感知实验室主任，近年连续入选斯坦福大学 “世界顶尖2%科学家”榜单。主要研究领域为计算机视觉、数据分析和机器学习，在Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology、ACM Computing Surveys、IEEE Transactions、Elsevier等期刊上，以及在AAAI、ACL、IJCAI、CVPR、ECCV、ACM MM、WACV等顶会上发表多篇论文。2011-2022年，担任悉尼科技大学计算机科学教授以及全球大数据技术中心计算机视觉和模式识别实验室主任，曾带领悉尼科技大学和香港理工大学联合研究项目的队伍（PolyUTS）获得了由IEEE信号处理学会颁发的2017年VIP杯亚军，以及2019年VIP杯冠军。他曾在 ACM MM、MMM、ICDAR、EEE BigDataService、IEEE TrustCom、IEEE CIT、IEEE AVSS、IEEE ICPR 和 IEEE ICARCV 等许多国际会议中担任各种主席。
